NEWS FROM POZNAŃ
The new railway station Dworzec Główny is growing more and more despite bad weather conditions. The main part is supposed to be ready before EURO 2012: photo
Size of the complex: 7 tsd. m2. Cost: about 170 mio. EUR. After Euro 2012 there should be also a shopping centre, parking space for 1,5 tsd. cars and a bus terminal. The whole complex should be ready until 2013.

The newest motorway (106 km) between Nowy Tomysl (PL) and Germany will have been finished sooner, than foreseen. The most ecological infrastructural investmenst in Poland will have been finished until November 2011, and probably even sooner. Until June 2012 it will be free for toll fare.
The 19th edition of the MALTA International Theatre Festival ended at the end of June. The five Festival days featured 126 theatre performances, happenings, dance shows, concerts, workshops and film shows with a total duration of 181 hours. There were over 300 artists from 65 ensembles, including 46 from Poland and 29 from abroad. The audience was astimated for about 110.000 people. It was really a pleasure to be a part of it. MALTA's next edition will begin next year - on 25th of June 2010 (lasting until 03.07).

Poznan will host matches for the Euro 2012 football tournament.
Besides Poznan, Wroclaw and Warsaw also received good news.
The opening matches will be played in Warsaw and the final in Kiev.
UEFA administrators gave good marks to Poland for its progress to prepare for the tournament, but urged Ukraine to do more.

The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Poznań – COP 14 – in the grounds of Poznan International Fair came to an end on 12 December 2008. It was Europe’s biggest political summit ever organised in Poland and in this part of Europe. For details see the web-side:
